Cunca Wulang is a beautiful waterfall located east of Labuan Bajo. You can go there with a bike or a car passing Trans Flores route. After you arrive in Wersawa Village, you can ask the locals for directions and they will point you to go downhill the cliffs for around 4 km. The route is no really hard to trek, but on average it will take about an hour to arrive at the waterfall.

Tourists can freely swim here. The water is still clear and clean, suitable for swimming to your heart content. You can even jump from the cliff to the water if you are brave enough. There are several spots in the cliff where you can safely jump and land in the water below. But do it at your own risk because the height is quite tall and no guide is willing to take responsibility.
The Danger
On rainy days, Cunca Wulang is not advisable to visit. This is because the water level is going to rise and the stream becomes faster, making it dangerous to be in the water. Even if you visit when the weather is clear, the guide usually checks the water first to make sure that it’s safe because recent rain might still leave the water rough.
Not only the rain does affect the waterfall, but it also makes the road trip to be even harder. The dirt on the land road is going to be wet and muddy, making it slippery and difficult to pass either with vehicles or on foot. There are also plenty of sharp rocks that can be fatal if someone slips on it, so make sure you visit the area on a sunny day.
