Lots of places around the world apply code of conducts for tourists and visitors alike. It is to prevent from bad impact of tourism that have been happening. There have been many reports how local residents are offended by the foreign visitors. Being a tourist or traveler sometime makes us believe that we can do anything we want because we are out of our country and there rules bound to us. However, we are bound by the rules of the locals. Therefore, there is no excuse to misbehave when travelling. Conducting positive behavior during travel will not make it any less fun or exciting. In fact, it will benefit you, the residents, and the nature in general. 

Developing positive habits for travelling

There are many kinds of misconducts that have been done by tourists and travelers alike especially when they travel to foreign countries. There have been minor and major misconducts that cause an uproar from the locals who demand to ban their place from tourists. Therefore, it is our responsibility to conduct positive behavior when travelling. When you do it constantly, it will develop into positive habits. Here are several tips to develop positive habits for when you travel:

Always do your research about the place you are going to visit in advance. Every place may have different cultures, customs, traditions, and beliefs. Those influence our perspectives in so many ways. What you consider normal behavior at home may be considered offensive in another country. Thus, always educate yourself about cultural differences before visiting the place to respect the locals and save yourself from any trouble. 

It is also important to read and understand about the danger and warnings of the place you are going to visit. Every country has different characteristic both geographically and culturally. Therefore, there must be warning, dangers, or threats you should be aware of. Lots of tourists skipped this important preparation and ended up injured during the trip. They often blamed the locals for it. However, it is the tourists’ responsibility to take precautions. 

Make sure to have some control when travelling no matter how exciting it is. There have been many cases of drunken tourist disorderly behave in public. Getting drunk when travel in foreign country may sound normal for you. However, it may lead to other misconducts that can offend or disturb the locals. It may end up getting you in lots of troubles you will regret later. Thus, always preserve some control over yourself and avoid getting too wild during a trip.

Always remind yourself to develop positive habits that will benefit your surroundings. For example, throw the rubbish in the right place, clean your camping site when finish, stop yourself from conducting touristy behavior to the wild animals, etc. Basically, it is not too hard to develop positive habits when travelling if you have human decency. Also, remind yourself that the purpose of travelling is to educate and make you a better version of yourself. Therefore, you will think twice before conducting any misbehavior.
